Dirhams to Dreams is a student-led initiative that provides personal finance workshops to workers in the UAE to empower them to make informed financial decisions.
Our program consists of two 2-hour workshops designed to deliver practical information that workers can use directly after a workshop.
Money Management
Credit
This workshop covers the fundamentals of budgeting and common financial scams in the UAE. Workers are taught how to set up budgets using a phone app, and are walked through case studies of common financial scams in the UAE as well as how to protect themselves from them.
This workshop covers the terminology associated with personal loans, credit scores and credit cards. Workers are taught what terms like repayment term and APR mean, what a credit score is and what affects it and how to select the ideal credit card for them.
Each workshop is backed with digital summary notes that workers can refer to after a workshop to remind themselves of important information.
